#1...Scapa 12yr old Orkney Malt, goldencolored, very mellow new cut hay/walnut aroma, light,evenly smooth-bodied, soft, clean well rounded vanilla, grain, nutty palate with a delayed peppery peaty lasting finish. A personal delight! I give it an 86.....#2...Auchentoshan Select...no age Lowland Malt honey colored Flowery,Fruity nose, Light bodied, wheat/lemon sweet barley,well rounded palate. A sharp spicy softly fading finish. I give it an 85....#3...Cragganmore 12yr old Highland malt,Gold/ambery color, A very exciting nose that ranges from spice to flowers to nuts grains I have a very difficult time bringing it to any one fragrance. It seems to change each time. Never dull,medium body, A clean crisp and very slightly peaty/herbal palate,and a very lasting softly peppered finish. I give it an 83 ...#4...Strathisla 12yr old Highland malt Deep golden color, A delightfully teasing nose of fruity oak and grains very fleeting!,medium oily body, Rich sweetly fruity warm nutty mouth awakening palate, A warm soothing vanilla finish that comes and goes at just the right times to tease and delight.... a strong 83..#5...The Glendronach 15yr old Sherry cask...Deep ambery in color,Well balanced fruity, peaty, oak, sherry, smokey nose,medium body, Caramel,fruity,with a hint of salty palate.Lasting toffee sherry finish. I give it an 80
I would also give a strong honorable mention to His Mad Irishness's One Hundred Malts. A mix of 100 different single malt scotches all in one bottle. What an enjoyable experience that was...
