Malt-of-the-Month: Auchentoshan Triple Wood
Rich, full-bodied scotch, strong, but not at all harsh. This was an instant hit with the NorthStars.
Tasting Notes: From what of my memory remains from my experience with this malt, I recall impressions of a strong, full-flavored scotch, but with none of the "biteyness" that one sometimes encounters. Good, full nose, heavy but not overwhelming body, a little sweet, nice nice nice finish.

Here we are it's summer again, our favorite time of year in Northern Michigan - at least the one that's most conducive to many happy drammings. As has become yearly tradition, Her Heathen Wenchness and His Refined Scottishness have celebrated their mutual birthday in the manner to which they have become accustomed (that being with lots of single malt scotch). We celebrated this momentous occasion in fine fashion (as we always do), starting at the AMVETS and ending up at the home of a mutual friend. As sometimes happens, His Refined Scottishness and His Drunken Irishness had to go on a beer run, and Her Heathen Wenchness ended up going outside and playing in the rain while they were gone - this to keep from slapping the cowboy-sh*t out of somebody who really deserved it, but shall remain nameless. But then the boys returned, and the birthday duo drammed to each other's longevity and such, and a good time was had by all.
Meantime, we NorthStars have kept on the hunt for new and interesting malts, we've added membership, yes, life is good.
